The Builder's Verdict

Insights

Original research, or nothing

This section publishes data we've collected and analysis we can defend, never rewrites of other people's press releases. It starts honestly: here's what's in the pipeline and how to take part.

In the pipeline

UK trades software cost survey

Collecting

What trade businesses actually pay for software, per head and per job, building on the verified vendor pricing already published in our cost guide.

Day rates by trade and region

Collecting

The rates board data, published only when sample sizes are honest, with methodology attached.

The real cost of missed calls

Designing

Groundwork for our AI receptionist category: measuring what an unanswered phone actually costs a trade business, before we judge the tools that claim to fix it.

The publishing standard

Every dataset we publish carries its sample size, collection window, method and caveats, the same rules as the rates board. Sponsored research is possible under the editorial policy: a sponsor can fund a question, never an answer.

What a published report will look like

Design demonstration of a research report cover: dark plate-style layout with the publication mark, a record number line, placeholder title and a banner reading 'Design demonstration, no report published'

Every report ships as a numbered record in the same identity as the site: sample size, method and collection window on the cover, methodology linked inside. This is a design demonstration only: no report exists yet, and the first one publishes when its data does.
